Collection: Santoku Knives

Sunnecko Santoku knives are made of Japan VG10 steel & 72-layer Damascus steel, and the blade edge is double beveled. The blade length is between 5 to 7 inches. And the handle material is ABS or G10. Santoku knife features a Granton design with a hollow edge to make it nonstick and much lighter.

Damascus steel was the forged steel of the blades of swords smithed in the Near East from ingots of Wootz steel either imported from Southern India or made in production centers in Sri Lanka, or Khorasan, Iran. This type of steel was also known as Sinhala Wane (Sinhala Steel) in Sri Lanka. These swords are characterized by distinctive patterns of banding and mottling reminiscent of flowing water, sometimes in a "ladder" or "rose" pattern. Such blades were reputed to be tough, resistant to shattering, and capable of being honed to a sharp, resilient edge.
